What are the benefits of various types of flooring?

The right type of flooring can make all the difference. Flooring is an underrated aspect that has a profound effect on a home’s environment. Learning about the different types of flooring will help you make the right choice for your home, and as always, we are happy to advise if you have questions.

Laminate

Affordable and durable, laminate flooring is a good option for a busy family. With a huge selection of styles, including laminate that mimics hardwood, tile, or stone, there is a laminate to meet every taste.

  • Appealing look
  • Affordable
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Easy maintenance
  • Pet and child friendly
  • Hypoallergenic

Hardwood Flooring

When it comes to renovating an older classic home, hardwood is an excellent choice for retaining the charm of the space. We install classics, such as oak and cherry, as well as new eco-friendly options, such as bamboo.

  • Easy to clean
  • High-quality look
  • Strong and durable
  • Great long-term investment
  • Absorbs sound better than other wood flooring
  • Minimizes the accumulation of allergens

Engineered Wood vs. Solid Wood

These two options have different price points.

Engineered wood is a combination of wood layers that make up a board. The top and bottom layers are 100 percent natural. Between the layers are five to seven plywood planks that create a highly stable, flexible core, that resists moisture, humidity, and damage from temperature fluctuations. Engineered wood is recommended for rooms that may be subject to moisture, such as in basements.

Solid wood is one thick plank of natural wood. Each solid piece is reliable and durable, which makes solid wood a beautiful and sturdy investment for the active areas of your home.

Vinyl Flooring

Being on a budget doesn’t mean sacrificing style. Talk to us about vinyl flooring, including luxury vinyl tile (LVT), luxury vinyl plank (LVP), and sheet vinyl. Vinyl flooring is both durable and beautiful.

  • Budget-friendly
  • Available in a vast array of finishes
  • Today’s vinyls are more durable and resilient than ever
  • Easy to maintain
  • Water-resistant and insulates against cold

Tile

For a room that will see heavy foot traffic and accidental spills, tile flooring makes an outstanding choice. From ceramic to porcelain to glass, we install beautiful and affordable tile flooring options that give your home a new sense of polish and finish.

  • Resists water
  • Low maintenance
  • Beautiful
  • Excellent for high-traffic areas
  • Wide range of styles
  • Highly durable
  • Precision installation makes a stunning look

Alberto installed ceramic and wood floors and a tile backsplash in my South Minneapolis home. His work was impeccable. He was clean, fast, and honest. And the results were stunning. I’ve since used him for other small carpentry projects and would definitely use him again.
